Very convenient for Valtice town with 15 minute walk. Entrance gate is easy for a large caravan and turn off road is good. field is a bit narrow and a few trees so a bit difficult to pitch unless you have a motor mover (but we managed without). Water is supplied from a large white barrel so not sure how clean but we boiled it and drank bottled water. A simple site with a nice play area for the children (two large wooden swings , sand pit and trampoline). We never met the owners but had a nice stay for the Valtice wine festival.
A lovely location and I'm sure when it is empty it is wonderful. Unfortunately it seems, in the summer a row of large caravans, are parked in a row about 20m back from the sandy/grassy beach. These caravans are there to stay with wooden decking built for awnings. You had to walk between these caravans to get to the lovely grass and beach and lake. Everyone else who arrives have to pick a few very small pitches I between the trees. We got there when this area was basically empty but by the time we left we were blocked in by all the other caravans and campervans. We had to allow one caravan to leave and another campervan to drop its awning just to leave the site. It is a lovely location with a great beach bar about 2pm away that served breakfast right through to night time drinks and even a band. Finally the toilet emptying were two portaloo that unfortunately became totally full while we were there. It was the most disgusting thing to empty out Thetford cassette into these loos. Daniel the owner was brilliant and did get them emptied once we asked. A great site and we would go back again but now with full understanding of the setup.
